Tentacle Legs

.

I’m putting together a collection of stories about squids, Lovecraftian terrors and things of that ilk.  It’s going to be called TEN TENTACLES and should be available in October.

To make the offering a little more eclectic, in addition to short stories I’m also including a short play and a poem.

But not just any poem, a Shakespearean sonnet.

And it goes a little something like this…

Tentacle Legs

She gently dances on tentacle legs
Slinky, sexy limbs that slither and slap
Each man that watches her with horror begs
But ‘tween flesh and flesh lies an endless gap
Movement like blind liquid flowing downhill
A dark promise made of sway and frolic
I watch and my soul never gets its fill
Gyrations and twirls that prove hypnotic
If I were to touch her, to hold her tight
And sob vows of forever devotion
She’d howl and laugh at my pitiful sight
Before she slid back into the ocean
I guess it’s enough, a dance and a wink
But still I dream of that soft touch of ink
